The story

At 17, one decision changed everything.

A devastating road crash claimed the lives of three of Rob's closest friends and left him a double amputee. His journey since has been one of rebuilding, adapting and finding purpose through adversity.

Today, Rob works professionally in road safety and has spent more than a decade sharing his story with corporate organisations, schools and communities. He is also an experienced wheelchair basketball athlete and coach, currently Head Coach of the Australian Wombats 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball program.

His presentations are authentic, relatable and thought-provoking — connecting workplace messages to real people, real choices and real consequences.

What Rob speaks on

Six topics, shaped to your audience.

  1. 01

    Workplace Safety & Personal Responsibility

The gap between knowing the rules and choosing to follow them. Rob connects toolbox-talk theory to a real face and a real outcome — why "she'll be right" is a decision, and who pays for it.

Safety days, toolbox events, National Safe Work Month

  2. 02

    Mental Health & Wellbeing

What recovery actually looked like after everything changed — the parts that do not fit on a poster. An honest, non-clinical conversation that gives teams permission to speak up.

R U OK? Day, World Mental Health Day, wellbeing programs

  3. 03

    Road Safety & Decision-Making

One decision, three lives lost, and a lifetime of consequence. Rob works professionally in road safety and brings both the lived reality and the evidence to audiences who drive for work.

National Road Safety Week, transport and fleet operators

  4. 04

    Resilience & Overcoming Adversity

Not the motivational version. The practical mechanics of rebuilding — adapting, asking for help, and finding purpose when the plan you had is gone.

    Conferences, leadership offsites, school assemblies

  5. 05

Disability, Inclusion & Breaking Down Barriers

What inclusion looks like from the other side of it. Rob challenges the assumptions people make without realising, and what genuinely changes when a workplace gets it right.

International Day of People with Disability, D&I programs

  6. 06

    Leadership, Teamwork & Workplace Culture

Lessons from elite sport and from being the person a team had to adapt around. Rob coaches at national level — he speaks about culture from inside one that has to work.

Leadership programs, culture and engagement days

What organisers say

Rob delivered a powerful and engaging presentation that connected strongly with our audience and brought a very personal perspective to the importance of road safety.

The response from our staff was overwhelmingly positive. I received numerous comments afterwards, with people describing Rob's presentation as highly impactful and "one of the best talks they have heard". His story and the way he shared it left a lasting impression and reinforced the importance of taking care when driving and interacting with the road environment. I highly recommend Rob as a speaker for any organisation looking to deliver a meaningful and memorable road safety message.
